Starting Up In Nigeria And Scaling Across Africa

On 25 February 2015 we (iAfrikan) hosted Marek Zmyslowski - Managing Director at - where he talked about his Oyinbo Lessons.

Marek Zmyslowski Oyinbo Lessons

Marek touched on advice such as most of your marketing as an internet startup should be offline early on and when your customers are happy with your services/products, you're half-way there.

He also advised those in attendance to dare to be different;

“Dare to be different. You have to be innovative to stand out from the crowd. You have to convince your customers to choose you over a million other options in the market” — Marek Zmyslowski

Above all, those in attendance found great value in Marek's lessons learned doing business in Nigeria and scaling accross the continet.

There was even time for some fun selfies like this one,

The event would not have been possible without our partners, TechpointNG, Uber Lagos, Capital Square, Nigerian Tribune and TechSuplex.

Nigerian Tribune, one of Nigeria's largest and oldest newspapers, also featured some of the lessons from the event in the entrepreneurship section of the newspaper.

We hope to see you at our next events.
