Hong Kong-based early-stage venture capital company and accelerator Nest, has announced a partnership with MTN Solution Space to provide founders and developers with office space and a platform to scale their startups globally.
To kick things off, the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business (UCT GSB) is set to launch an intensive two-day bootcamp for mobile tech startups in Cape Town. The partnership will also see succesful startups get the opportunity to pitch at AfricaCom, which will take place in Cape Town in November 2016.
Applications are open to startups with innovative solutions ranging from but not limited to mobile commerce, entertainment, and financial management. The bootcamp was designed with one thing in mind; to create a platform to bring startups together with telecoms from across Africa for potential integration opportunities.
“Beyond great ideas and funding, developing the right partnerships is the important for a startup to scale and take their innovation global,” Aaron Fu, Nest’s Managing Partner in Africa
Aaron Fu, Nest's Managing Partner in Africa, said the partnership with MTN Solution Space will leverage their combined strengths to help early-stage companies drive adoption of innovative solutions, run proof-of-concepts with big corporations and access resources and support to take their businesses to the next level.
"The bootcamp offers unique access and insights from industry leaders, investors and successful entrepreneurs." Sarah-Anne Arnold, MTN Solution Space's Manager.
This is an encouraging partnership as we await to see how it will enable Afrikan startups on their journey towards becoming high growth businesses and scaling globally.
