“We have consistently managed to find high quality startups in Cape Town. We expect that this ongoing trend will continue and are extremely happy to return and find the next potential South Africa and Global winner. ” said Claudia Makadristo, Regional Manager for Africa at Seedstars World.

The South African leg of the Seedstars World Tour has one of South Africa's big banks, Standard Bank, as a main sponsor. Together with Standard Bank, Seedstars World will host the Cape Town leg on 8 June 2017 at Workshop 17.

“Standard Bank is proud to be the country sponsor of Seedstars South Africa for the third year. Our partnership with Seedstars has given us yet another opportunity to engage with the vibrant startup community across the country. This year we hope to attract some of the most innovative businesses as with previous years. These partnerships allow us to help change the narrative of the potential that exists on the continent and helps us recognise and create access to market opportunities for those businesses that make it to the regional finals and the finals.” said Jayshree Naidoo, Head of Incubator at Standard Bank.

Seedstars World have already announced the finalists for the Johannesburg leg of the South African tour, with a winner set to be announced at a pitching event that will be held on 26 May 2017 at the Standard Bank Incubator.
