Facebook invited a few people for a tour of their new Afrika head office in Johannesburg on 14 June 2017. Nunu Ntshingila, Facebook's Regional Head for Afrika served as the tour guide.

In introducing Facebook's initiatives and progress so far in Afrika, 23 months after announcing they will have an office on the continent, Ntshingila highlighted that since the Facebook Africa office was opened almost two years ago the Afrika user numbers have grown by 42% to over 170 million monthly active users (MAUs). This growth also meant the Facebook Africa team grew and that they needed a new "home".
Nunu Ntshingila explains the Ndebele and Afrikan inspiration for the wall's painting.

The meeting rooms and boardrooms have Afrika inspired names.
Ghanaian or Nigerian?
Also interesting to observe was that the meeting rooms have a display outside linked to calendars whenever anyone books the meeting room.
The view from the Mielie Pap boardroom.
What also caught our attention is this empathy desk with different model phones apparently used to test an user reported issues.

Sundowners anyone?
In case you were in any doubt which continent you are in or which Facebook regional office this is, the reception area leaves no room for doubt.
