The largest ever EA Sports FIFA 17 e-Sports Championship in Afrika is set to take place in South Africa from 22 to 23 July 2017. The tournament will be hosted by Telkom South Africa's VS Gaming - the South African telecommunications company's digital gaming subsidiary.

The two-day tournament will be taking place at Johannesburg's Gallagher Convention Centre.

"We’re looking for those of you who aren’t afraid to explore, to challenge, to dream, and dare to live. This isn’t just a casual Friday night on the couch with your younger brother: It’s lightning reflexes, mental agility, complex strategies and split-second timing all building up to the unparalleled moment where you raise that trophy above your head," said VS Gaming in a statement announcing the tournament.

Not only will it be a tournament for those who want to participate among the 1,024 competitors, but it is also a festival which will see performances by Riky Rick, DJ Fresh, Cassper Nyovest and Euphonik.

All the tournament's games will be streamed on the GINX eSports channel by Supersport.

All you have to do to participate in the tournament is register on the VS Gaming website for free, while those who want to be spectators and part of the Festival can purchase tickets for approximately $7 (R100) for attendance per day.
