The 3rd annual Seedstars Africa Summit is set to take place in Maputo, Mozambique from 11 to 14 December 2017. The event will bring to an end a year in which Seedstars World organized startup competitions in 25 Afrikan countries to throughout 2017 to identify the most promising startups.
The event will be hosted by Mozambique's UX Information Technologies and supported by Enel, Merck, Orange, Microsoft, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Embassy of Switzerland and Standard Bank among others.
“We have been on a long and interesting journey when it comes to entrepreneurship and technology in emerging markets. As part of the Seedstars DNA we want to be on the ground working directly with startups, corporates and other stakeholders. This is exactly the reason why we are travelling to 88+ ecosystems globally this year over 20 countries in Africa. We are very excited to be able to bring the entire network together in Mozambique later this year and together look into some of the opportunities of the continent and explore how technologies can rapidly improve the current status quo in emerging markets worldwide.” said Claudia Makadristo, Regional Manager for Africa at Seedstars World.
The Africa Regional Summit will last for 3 days and bring together over 800 attendees commencing with a bootcamp for the participating startups, an ecosystem tour, investor day and culminate with a Conference and Pitch event on December 14th that will feature the startup pitches, keynotes, and panel discussions that will engage a range of topics and ideas pertinent to entrepreneurs in the region.
The full event program and tickets are available on the Seedstars World website.
"We are very honored to host the 3rd edition of Seedstars Regional Summit in Africa, following the steps of Morocco and Rwanda, and finally bringing the Summit to Maputo. The Seedstars network is very solution oriented and we believe the Regional Summit is the perfect environment to bring together the best startups on the continent to exchange experiences from our individual markets and brainstorm truly applicable solutions for problems facing emerging markets, both on the continent and globally. It'll also be a unique opportunity, not only for our international visitors to get first hand contact with the local tech and entrepreneurship scene and give them a chance to introduce their products and services to the Mozambican market, but it’ll also be a great opportunity for the local brands, sponsors and entrepreneurs who will be attending the 3 day activities to get to know what's going on in the rest of the continent and also expose their products and services to a larger audience.", concluded Tiago Borges Coelho, Co-Founder at UX.Share this article via:
