South Africa's EmptyTrips Is Off To Silicon Valley

South African online transport marketplace startup, EmptyTrips, will soon be off to Silicon Valley to compete for a $1 million investment prize. This is after the startup was named the winner of the Chivas Regal Venture Pitching Den that took place at Cape Town Stadium on 8 September 2017.

Earlier in 2017 EmptyTrips was also named as a finalist at the Johannesburg leg of the Seedstars World competition.

“For us, this means more than just an opportunity to go to Silicon Valley, to us this shows that we are on the right track and that the right people are taking notice. I am grateful to have a supportive team who always bend backwards to make magic happen” said Benji Coetzee, Founder and CEO at EmptyTrips.

EmptyTrips' online transport marketplace that matches transporters, agents and shippers in Afrika. It uses smart algorithms to match demand and supply of cargo transport.

Coetzee also mentioned that she has always believed in innovation and she is certain that this is the solution that Afrika has been waiting for.
