South Africa's Rekindle Learning has announced that Founder and CEO, Rapelang Rabana, will be taking on a new role as Chief Digital Officer at BCX on 1 December 2017. Having founded the company 3 years ago and gone through high risk years of refining the value proposition, completing major R&D milestones and securing a stable client base, Rapelang Rabana will be stepping down as CEO to become Chairperson of Rekindle Learning.
Nomsa Seisa, who has been with the company since the beginning of 2017, will take over the role of CEO.
"Change is never easy, especially when it involves a business you started, but I believe this is great outcome for Rekindle Learning and the next phase of my journey. This new role provides a great platform to pioneer disruptive digital solutions and most importantly to work with innovative tech companies and grow them to scale through BCX’s ecosystem. Lack of market access is a great inhibitor for growth, and having understood that as an entrepreneur myself, my objective is to bring those insights for the mutual benefit and growth of startups and BCX," said Rapelang Rabana.
As part of Rabana'move to BCX, Rekindle Learning will be joining Telkom’s FutureMakers enterprise development programme.
“This will be a major boost for Rekindle Learning growth path as it can now access BCX and Telkom’s wider network of customers and market access channels”, said Seisa.
Seisa has experience across several sectors including management consulting, technology, hospitality, renewable energy, financial services. Her roles within these areas have included executive management, strategic leadership, execution, change management, sales and process management.
"Rapelang a true maverick and disruptor. She has done truly amazing work to advance technology in this country, and I know they will do the same for BCX," said Ian Russell, CEO at BCX.
Rabana will continue to serve as a non-executive Chairperson for Rekindle Learning and non-executive Director of Nisela Capital.
