After hosting competitions in 20 countries across Afrika throughout 2017, Seedstars World will now be bringing together entrepreneurs together with ecosystem players, mentors, investors and corporates from across the continent at their annual Seedstars Africa Summit. The event is set to take place in Maputo Mozambique on 14 December 2017.
After exploring various local startup ecosystems across Afrika and scouting the most promising tech startups in each market, Seedstars has also selected 17 startups to pitch at their annual summit for Afrika.
“During 2017 we got to witness growing ecosystems, better startups and more involvement from public and private partners. We are very excited to be able to bring the entire network together in Mozambique in December and together look into some of the opportunities of the continent and explore how technologies can rapidly improve the current status quo in emerging markets worldwide.” said Claudia Makadristo, Regional Manager for Africa at Seedstars.
The Seedstars Africa Summit will be held over a period of 3 days, bringing together over 500 attendees commencing with a bootcamp for the participating 17 startups, an ecosystem tour, an investor day and culminate with a Conference on 14 December 2017, featuring the startup pitches, keynote speakers, and panel discussions that will support a range of topics and ideas pertinent to entrepreneurs in Afrika.
The event is hosted by Seedstars local ambassador. UX Information Technologies, with Standard Bank as the main sponsor. Other partners include both local and international organisations such as: Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, UNFPA, Merck, Enel , TRECC, Microsoft, Orange, GSMA and VC4A amongst many others.
