There are so many books out there that some people don’t know where to start when it comes to reading. That’s why it’s a good idea to start with the classics as these are timeless books that echo throughout generations. The trouble with them is that there are also lots of classics to read, but you’ll need to start somewhere. If you haven’t got an idea where to start, then here are some suggestions:
Bram Stoker’s ode to horror is the perfect horror book which is why it deserves a spot on any classic books list. Johnathan Harker takes a trip to help an elderly count purchase some property in London only to be trapped inside his castle. His beloved Mina gets the attention of the count and he decides to make her his bride. This gothic story will have you in shivers as the characters put their best foot forward to save Mina and vanquish an inhuman opponent.
This book has spawned multiple film adaptations and cameos. Dracula is part of many video games and TV shows. There’s even a slot game that slot fans can enjoy online thanks to the many casino sites available. Dracula-themed and other kinds of slots and casino games can be found on sites like novibet.co.uk and many others. The main thing to remember about such sites and games is to enjoy them responsibly. Make sure to set your limits and respect them.
If you’re looking for a film adaptation to watch after reading the book then Coppola’s 1992 version will do you fine. There’s also a splendid comic book by George Bess published in 2017 that captures the stunning story in marvelous black and white tones.
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Honestly, all of Tolkien’s books are amazing and deserve a separate list. But when it comes to classics in the fantasy genre then the Lord of the Rings trilogy is the ideal one. You’ll meet colorful characters like Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin as well as Gandalf, Aragorn, Gollum, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir, Faramir, Saruman and many more. In the first book, you’ll learn of the task that Frodo and his Fellowship need to complete and the challenges they face along the way.
In the second one, you’ll see them closer to the goal as the Fellowship is separated only to get back together again in the third book. Once you’ve finished the series you can watch the gorgeous film adaptation by Peter Jackson. Each film, from the first until the last one has its moments like the battle through the Mines of Moria, the Battle of Helm’s Deep as well as the Battle for Gondor.
Brave New World
Aldous Huxley outdid himself when he wrote Brave New World which is considered a classic in the sci-fi genre. He predicted several scientific discoveries and the book is set in a dystopian world where people are made in test tubes. The right combinations give birth the alpha males and females whereas the wrong ones give birth to lesser males and females. The very names of the characters hold meaning and so does the message of this book. It’s a grim reimagining of what society could be like if science were to take control entirely.Share this via:
