Earlier in 2022 VALR, a crypto exchange headquartered in South Africa, announced that it had raised $50 million in a Series B equity funding round. The funding, led by Pantera Capital, was also the largest ever crypto raise in Afrika to date.

It was also reported by VALR that the raise brings the company's valuation to approximately $240 million.
