Download Currency - The KasiMP3 Story is a free e-Book which tells the story of how RiSA, SAMRO and some South African record labels lobbied to get the independent online music platform, KasiMP3, shutdown.

At its peak KasiMP3 had over 50,000 independent music artists registered and many music artists who are now popular, like Kwesta, Cassper Nyovest, and Emtee, used KasiMP3 to distribute their music and build their fanbase.

This is a story of how Mokgethwa Mapaya, through several bouts of depression, had the vision to help independent music artists in South Africa to both be able to build a fanbase for their music and earn some money while still making their way up in the music industry.

This is only part of the story, starting at the very beginning of KasiMP3 and leading up to its shutdown in 2012 and ending with its re-launch in 2013.
